The Plane wreck on the Black Beach made the landscape so quiet and sad.The happy side of landscape is that all of the crew survived the crash.
This US Navy DC-3 crash , landed on Sólheimasandur beach on November 24th, 1973.
Is interesting how the wreck is in fantastic condition considering it has been exposed to the tough Icelandic climate for the last forty two years.It’s not difficult to found this place. To get here follow these directions.

It is a place you need to visit!
The beach has volcanic sand, it`s very black , you can see here all sorts of rock formations , one big cave and powerful waves.
